Close my eyes as tears slide silently down my face
seconds earlier
sitting at a crowded table I'd been watching you
put your arms round someone else and kiss her
my heart had stopped
and tears threatened to rush from my eyes
slipping away
i turn the corner and push my back up against the wall
now i'm right back where i started
the wall i built up broken on the ground
i don't know what to do
so i sit there afraid to open my eyes
of what i might see
all my wishing and dreaming wasted
