MASCARA;

by Shaylee Rose   Jul 28, 2009

Touch up that make up
Clean those mascara lines
Black still streaming down your face
Keep pretending youll be fine

Push that pain back in
Because everything is gonna be okay
their too blind to see your tears
to blind to see your pain

The mascara runs to the pillow
as the screaming is on repeat
Nothing stops the black rivers
as you fall into your last sleep

They said this would be temporary
They said it wouldnt last
Dreaming keeps the Mascara running
as you re-live memories of the past

No matter how hard you try
You can never silence this black sea
Cause you have to let the tears escape
You have to set them free.

You got rid of me
The one you try so hard to hide
But one day Ill be back again
I will no longer be trapped inside

You took me from your bedside table
You tore me from the light
You tried to keep me in the dark
Tried to protect me from what wasnt right

You took the pain right out
You said it was never real
You refused to be unhappy
You refused to show the pain you feel

How could you be so stupid
How did you ever get so daft
Did you honestly believe
That you would get the last laugh

You may have hidden the real you
But sometimes that wont work
Sometimes you have to let me be seen
Sometimes you just have to hurt

So Im coming back to haunt you
Im coming back to steal your fame
Taking that happy person
Right from the picture frame

Replacing it with hurt
Replacing it with mascara so black
Be afraid me dear girl,
Because once im outside, im never going back.
