Daddy Don't Leave Me

by Kemmy Rose   Aug 4, 2009

I found this in one of my old poetry binders... it was the best written out of all of them there. I believe I wrote it in the fifth grade, for a school project- Rewrite a well-known song/ write a poem about your favorite song (it was a grade).
----------------------------------------------------------------

Watch Little Girl
As Daddy drives away
Your knight in shinning armor
Doesn't want to stay

Listen closely little girl
For you will hear the engine no longer
She whispers Daddy daddy don't leave
I promise I'll be stronger

Daddy Daddy don't leave
I promise, Ill be good
Daddy Please.. Don't walk out the door
This is something id never understood.

Poor Little Girl
Clinging on to his jacket for life
Do you see the tears in her eyes, shes giving in
Forget It Little One, This was never a fight you would win

Daddy Daddy don't leave
I'm sorry for the things i said,
I swear i never meant a word
I didn't know it would lead to this dread

Poor Little Girl
Look around this now empty place
Daddy gone, nothing left to do
Nothing here anymore, but an open space

Watch Little girl
As Daddy drives away
Your knight in shinning armor
Doesn't want to stay

I loved it from beginning to end..Which song were you rewriting?..It reminded me of Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You" or Lindsay Lohan's "Daughter to Father"
