The Missing Pieces

by Axel Cruz   Aug 13, 2009

It ripped itself into many pieces,
As if there wasn't anyone good enough for it.
As if it was the end of everything,
Now that you have left forever.
My heart became an unsolvable puzzle.
With pieces that weren't missing,
But irretrievable throughout space.
You came like death itself.
With just a simple touch of death,
With just those simple words,
You made my heart a stranger to me.
It became this creature of despair and anger.
Hoping, wishing, and praying
That someone one day will come.
It will have the final piece of the puzzle.
Those curable words that will calm the creature,
Those words that will sooth it and make it normal again.
Who am I kidding?
You are my scattered piece.
You are what brings the colors to the rainbow.
You are the one the moon fears,
And the sun emerges from its slumber to see you smile.
A smile that brightens the whole universe.
You are the brightest star in the sky.
Not even the rays of the sun will hide your glow.
You are my missing pieces.
