Piece of Me

My thoughts stray to you
kinda like they always do
i cant help but miss you
and remember how very much i still love you

and i hold onto my sanity by barely a thread
knowing this path is much too dangerous for my fragile heart to tread
but i still remember every word you said
and the feeling of lying beside you in your bed

why can't i seem to let you go
it's like my heart likes being so low
i cant find the strength to not turn and follow
so i just lay here for now

i know that i'm just too weak to find someone new
my feelings don't seem to diminish over time they just grew
nowadays my tears flow freely while my smiles are few
the future is not even within my view

i hope that someday i will be able to move on
and find a way to cope
but you will always hold a piece of me
that prevents me from ever being whole again..
