Forgotten Girl

by Emily Irene   Sep 1, 2009

She's got the looks.
But not the friends.
She screws up.
No point to pretend.

She walks the halls.
Her head facing the floor.
Wishing she were someone else, everyday.
The thought crosses her mind more and more.

She cries herself to sleep.
Each and every night.
Sometimes harder than others.
Its a very sad sight.

She abandoned her friends.
In search of finding herself.
She's still looking.
But found nothing except emptiness itself.

To change the past.
Would be a gift from above.
No one is that lucky.
Not even with the power of love.

A very disconsolate poem. Very good work in transposing somewhat dispirited stimulus into a fine poem. Great work.
