Special?

Growing up I was told these words:
You're special.
You're the world.
You're the best.

My ears were filled with promises of
you can do anything...
you can be anything...
and my all time favorite,
everything will be okay.

but as i grow older I see
that these words are
meaningless...
ostensible...

Words fed to
the ignorant...
the misled.

And as time makes my heart freeze,
And my soul becomes more and more shattered.
I realize...
I'm not really that special at all...

Not kinda...
Not sorta...
Not maybe...
Not even a little...
Not even at all...
