Feathers Don't Last

by ephemera   Sep 6, 2009

Feathers don't last forever, feathers don't last forever
Flying too close to the sun, the burning takes me down
Down, down into the sea, I drink this fate like wine
That stains my lips

A day without, a night without
Hallucinating poetically, a god who makes wine appears
Hand in hand, I've drunk till my veins overflow
Heart sobbing in ecstasy

This cursed vice, this cursed vice
Intoxicated incessantly as if life depended upon it
I flew too close, caught on fire, fell in the sea
Salvation Dionysus! This cannot be!

Feathers don't last forever, feathers don't last forever
