Petrichor

by ephemera   Jan 2, 2017

I came to him blindfolded in red silk,
A virgin's longing and taste of forbidden love
Salted across my lips.
And I waited for months hoping for a sign
Wanting to show him what I'd give if only he'd be mine.
And now I find myself far from the break of waves
Remembering each moment and every poem
He left in his wake.

A poem about the marriage of two minds and a love left unconsummated because of the expanse of Atlantic waves.
