You Said You Had Me at Hello

by No Need For A Name   Sep 11, 2009

Lakes and waters
Floating with my father
He once told me
The girl of my dreams

She was a dream for me no more
I should go knock upon her door
And wait to give my heart and soul
Wait to give all this and more

You said you had me at hello
I thought for sure
That we were destined to be
More then everything
Before or in between
You said you'd never say goodbye
And that's when I
Gave my heart and soul to you
Only to have them
Broken like a fool

Late one summer
Sitting with my mother
She twice told me
The girl of my dreams

Was waiting for me down at the lake
Waiting for what, my heart to break?
Well that's a chance I'll have to take
That's a chance I had to take

You said you had me at hello
I thought for sure
That we were destined to be
More then everything
Before or in between
You said you'd never say goodbye
And that's when I
Gave my heart and soul to you
Only to have them
Broken like a fool

So does this prove my love to you?
A box of chocolates
A suit and tie
Bouquet of flowers
And my life
So does this rip me in two?
A chance at love
Or my real life
Be someone else
Or stay alive

You said you had me at hello
I thought for sure
That we were destined to be
More then everything
Before or in between
You said you'd never say goodbye
And that's when I
Gave my heart and soul to you
Only to have them
Broken like a fool

Once again you need to make your verses stronger if you plan on having these as songs. Its basically 6 short line verses and the rest is copied and pasted as the chorus. The chorus is pretty good but you still need solid verses to compliment them. When is the last time you heard a song with barely no verses just straight chorus and actually enjoyed it? Its not terrible don't get me wrong but their supposed to be songs so they should be longer and stronger an honest 4/5
