My Horse

by Jackie Patterson   Sep 15, 2009

I walk out in the field
The wind blows through my hair
I see her standing there
Beautiful and corsair

I whisper gleefully
As I see her once more
Her sounds make my heart soar
I yearn to touch her elegant, soft fur

I step closer, closer still
Until she's in my embrace
I swing my body onto her back from past her face
As I am spurred and thrown into a heaven bound pace

We fly along like grace untold
Two bodies like one
We race along into the sun
Until a brown barrier ceases our fun
