Heaven is my real home

by Jackie Patterson   Feb 5, 2010

When I walk around
And see those people with whom I am found
I wonder if I belong.

I see what they do
I hear what they hear
I wonder if they hear it too

I think of my Lord
And pull out my Sword
To find out what he did

I read where it said
He resisted temptation
And followed wherever God led

God promises He'll help me
So that I can flee
Every wrongdoing and sin

I suddenly realized
That god is my Father
I thought with pleasant surprise

I don’t belong here
With these people, this fear
For heaven is my real home
