Impressionable Nightmares

Smoke filled room
Blinding flashing lights
Blaring noises
The sounds of fights.

Breaking glass
Stabbing pain
Feeling lonely
Feeling shame.

Tears fall
No relief
Tears of pain
Tears of grief.

Cant run
Cant get away
Cant talk
What would I say?

Eyes shut
Cant move
This is my fault
The voices approve.

Wake up
Its too much
But your not here
For me to touch ...

Ever had that nightmare that is all impressions, where nothing seems clear?

    Absolutely brilliant. I loved that stanza, 'can't talk, what would I say?' I have those dreams all the time, where all you can do is onlook, and you just can't wake up. Beautiful writing, keep it up xo
