Solemn Tides Harbor Boisterous Vessels

by Indian Comma Bean   Sep 22, 2009

Locks of silver moonlight swim
Across a navy mirror stained by shadow,
So ominous, yet so peaceful;
Intrigue flirts with wonder.
A settler in a clockwork world,
You often seek your boundary set
With earthen sticks and stones,
Yet remain the dirt beneath the boot.
Unnoticed.

Forgotten like the weeds
Left unkempt in Mother's garden,
Dark clouds begin to pull the night
Above your eyes, rain reminding you
That no candle stays aflame,
No passage cleanses shame,
Yet hope sinks its roots within
The ash of yesterday's atrocities.

Lonely sentiments drift in morning's whispers,
A lyrical melody paints renewal in the air
Moving free, caressing withered children
Falling without a name, screaming with
Unrivaled anguish - left in silence,
A feeling far too familiar.
