Candles Shiver In The Sunlight

by Indian Comma Bean   Sep 25, 2009

Over lost memories, I trace the contour
Of my reoccurring dreams,
For everything I've ever loved
Has dug its home within the sand.
I find my voyage has turned its course,
Flirting with malevolent skies
Reflections glinting in stricken eyes,
Diamonds drizzle down my cheeks.

I see the future as a silhouette,
Leaving broken glass at my feet,
No mirror could ever smile before me.
A twisted mind wraps around the air
That leaves my lungs to desperation,
Frozen in a world that breaks the ice
I am alone in this reality while sorrow
Sinks its teeth within the flesh of my mentality.

Without a voice to cry out, I am ashamed,
Broken in a puddle of misery left to dry,
Trembling hands turn empty pages
Of promises written to the grave.
I find horizons burning in my heart,
Searing the very pulse that weeps.
Pensive smoke lingers, uninvited,
Reawakening this veiled visitor -

Within my mind, I bathe in fear.
