Stuck

by Viola   Sep 29, 2009

I want to know everything
and have everything be a part of me

I want to know the songs of the birds
and be able to speak to them
so they may teach me how to fly
away from myself

I want to know the path of the wind
and what keeps it going
swaying the blades of grass through the spring fields
so that I too can move

I want to know the determination of the storm
the sky screaming at the Earth
striking it and drowning it till it listens
so that I too can find a way to be heard

I want to know all the colours of the world
to feel them with my eyes and ears and skin
to have them overpower
my own illusive grey dreams

I want to know the fears of a snail
withering away inside his own shell
waiting for safety to arrive
so that I can find a way to hide intramurally in my soul

I want to know the life of a star
burning brightly until it burns out
a sort of unconditional love for the world below
so that I may know what it is like to be loved this way

I want to know what makes you cry
what makes your blood flow
what mournful memories rest in your heart
so that I can find a spot to rest within you

I want to know what makes life
spin through these same circles
a wheel of destruction that never ends, nor begins
so that I may know of an escape from here

This is absolutely beautiful. I am astounded. Your word choice was perfect and the flow was fantastic. The first two lines feel out of place, but it isn't bad. I just love this piece. Wonderful work here.
