Un(feeling)

by Viola   Oct 15, 2009

Autumn settles itself in my bones
A chill that's more than just skin deep
It penetrates with determination
Into my core
And I am getting colder
While the leaves warm themselves by the fire
The glow of the flames painting their faces
Washes of oranges and reds and yellows
An array of colours
Doing a repetitive dance in the wind
And I am stuck, once again
Without you around the seasons pass me by
The hours go uncounted
Yet my heart remembers each minute you're away
I sit and watch the world roll all around me
And wonder how much of it would I have to give up
For you to come back
Would you ever come back?

A very strong write here. The portrayal of sad emotion was very vivid. Good job.
