False Fairytale

The stains on the carpet have nothing to do with where we are now. The sheets are forever marked by what we once had. My sweatshirt smells like sex and you. I hate to say it's become permanent. The words "I love you" were always used so sparingly, I don't know why I didn't see this coming.
As the time goes by, I find this harder and harder to write. You would think that putting a pen to paper wouldn't be hard at all. But in this case, there must be something more than just the obvious. I promised you I'd never fall apart. You always thought I was stronger and I hate to be the one to prove you wrong.
I swore it'd never come to this, and it may seem like I've just failed; But in all honesty, I've loved you from the start. So tonight will be the night that I will fall for you all over again.
You running your fingers through my hair, looking at me with the blue eyes that I once adored too much to even comprehend.
It's a shame that this will all be over before morning comes around again.
