Just you wait and see

by Tangible heartache   Oct 29, 2009

You come home from school,
A day gone perfectly fine,
You come to her drinking,
She can't even walk a straight line.

She slurs her words, and shakes her fist,
You frown, wishing things would change.
She stumbles across the room to you,
She slaps you; you're caught in her rage.

You want the old days back,
Where she'd give a hug and a smile,
You were her baby girl again,
And you could life your life awhile.

But ever since your dad had died,
Her life went the wrong way.
You're always getting hurt,
More bruises each and every day.

Sometimes you cry yourself to sleep,
Thinking why does it have to be me?
You just want to run from your problems,
Maybe one day she might see.

But the pain that you have taken,
Will one day be gone,
Even though you don't want it,
You'll have to lay her down to a song.

She drinks to ease away her pain,
And hits to take away her anger,
Even though you say you still love her,
She is always going to be a stranger.

I promise it will get better,
Just try to live each day.
She'll find out her life,
And figure she went the wrong way.
