The Real Truth About Society

by Good Enough   Nov 9, 2009

People drop like flies
The innocence of the core of society
Is that illuminate blue light
Your mesmerized by is magnificent beauty
You’re flying closer, with no worry in the world
And all of a sudden, ZAP!

Your breath is taken from your body
Your heart collapses onto itself
And you fall. You just fall
You fall into societies grasp

Society’s hands are stained in the fallen blood
And there is nothing you can do
Because you have fallen into the trap

Your body, motionless, crashes
Into the hands of the hungry
There hungry for your soul
Are you up for that?

Are you up to feeding your soul to them?
Of course you are. you’re so predictable
You wanted this and you sacrificed everything

There are some grammatical mistakes in here.
"illuminate" i think should probably be illuminating
"collapses onto itself" should maybe collapses into itself and "There hungry" should definitly be they're hungry.
otherwise i did like this poem, i felt it should maybe be a bit longer but that is just me.
otherwise i have really liked the allegory and message in this poem. how they blind and mesmerise us with lies, untill it is to late and we get to the stage where we no longer know who we are. how we try to become some carbon copy of the people the media or whatever portrays to us, and so loose everything that makes us who we are, our soul.
so this is a very good poem, true and heartfelt. 5/5
