Searching For Regret

by uppercase   Nov 12, 2009

Regret, you've always been a coward,
Especially when people have their second thoughs clenched in their fists.
Why do you take your time my old friend?
You never had a problem being yourself to me as a child;
what changed now? Has God stripped you away of your powers?
Has He pinned you down with His almighty strength?
I've always needed you as a tool, my sidekick;
man we were up to no good.
but tonight, I might be yelling "Man down"
Have you figured that you don't need me anymore?
I suppose time does that,
Has that old hag, time, has he driven you into believing this madness?
Ironically, your sense of humor has left me regretfully searching for you.
Why do you peak your head out so ambiguously?
I've known you to be a little more confident than this!
Who has stripped you of your loins?
Ripped out your guts, devoured your courage in their starving bellies.
We both know you're more than useless,
but you know I've been fooled in the past too.
Hind sight has, and will always be 20/20 while you're gone.
Regret, where have you gone? you're devious coward.
