Acquiescence

by Nicko   Nov 19, 2009

Cradled within his weary arms
Her crumpled bones askew
Angles and planes
Emancipated shrew

Temple vein
Pulseless
Tempestuous temper
Abated
Agony and ecstasy
Spent
Laughter and warmth
Cold
Sunlit eyes
Cloudy

Animation stilted, he laid her out
Upon the pillow of memories and dreams
Barely denting the cream quilt cover with blue piping.
Dialled! Waited

Creaking in the faded wicker chair
Rummy eyes unseeing
Beyond this ravaged being
Best angels beware

To sun and leaves
Deciduous trees
Blue eyed tears
Children's fears
Sensuous embrace
Poise and grace
Baked cakes
Silly mistakes
Mown lawn
Magic dawn

Doorbell chimes
Red flickering on the windowsill
Life like
Dead light

Written for a contest.....we won yipeeeeee
