Floater

by ~*~ColdHope~*~   Nov 28, 2009

I'm not looking for anything I don't need.
Sometimes it gets to me though, this sadness.
Like I'm floating from above,
over a sea full of people.
An outsider among the many.
Close enough to see,
Far enough to not participate.
Clinging to raised hand,
for a moment of suspension.
But through the haste of all the masses,
I get lost in the gravitational void.
Floating through time, floating through life.
Over a field of smiling faces, and happy thoughts.

I'm not asking for anything I don't deserve.
Just for someone to keep me company,
to see the world like me,
to be a floater in the sky.
To swim in an ocean of clouds,
over a school of crowded people.
But hope sometimes runs cold,
and faith is hard to find,
when you live your life above.
Where what you want is sometimes hard to see,
and even harder to believe.

I wasn't searching for anything I thought was even plausible.
But then you came along,
And made it possible.
I still think your to good to be true.
My own personal angel sent here to save me from grace.
The day I look up from the masses,
and you where there, with a smile on your face,
as you whispered me your name.
Sometimes I still get scared that you'll drift away.
Leave me to join the others.
But you just hold on to me tighter,
and whisper that you love me.
as I sigh a sign of relief,
Thanking my lucky stars,
That I was finally born to fly.
