My Real Love That Was Just a Fake

by Dawn Ariscent   Nov 29, 2009

Haha, your name means nothing here
Not a one cares

You broke me
The way only an animal could
Or maybe machine
Calculated

So hypocritical
Not every going back on a word
Silly me
It all makes sense

You took me by the hand and showed me
How to really feel
What love truly feels like

Or maybe you just released
The right chemicals
You are a machine
After all

But really
I've never wanted---
Needed someone so much

If you had loved me
We could have had it all
You would be my blond angel
And I would be your loving slave

Those phrases
I could have heard them in my dreams
Now they're in nightmares

Never even said a word to me
Your new girlfriend maybe?
I didn't have a clue.

We're on the phone
Then you're in the arms of another

Karma, my dear, Karma

It was just an affair
It rolled off your tongue so well
"But you have a boyfriend"
As he teased me

But you would never cheat
You're above that

You are the worst person I have ever known
Those two days were the best of my life

They were promising and exciting
They meant nothing
To you
Everything to me

Slowly you smothered my hope
Until I choked on my own
Deluded happiness

Part of me would stab you if I got the chance
The same part of me would kiss you
Until you loved me

LOL, I literally had that as the title of my poem, but I cut it out at the last second. Thanks so much for your input. I totally agree.

That's really good, suggestion for you, I think the last line my real love that was just a fake would be an excellent title for this poem. it's a good poem a lot of anger and betrayal. keep writing xxx
