Phantom Knocks & Distant Moans

by Indian Comma Bean   Dec 9, 2009

Solemn tides bring suspicions
To the harbors in my eyes,
A tribute to the souls aloft
I wish my tears to fill the skies.

I cast the fire of my candles,
Acrid smoke and ashen tapers,
To set the ocean's kin aflame
A signal spun within my vapor.

Dissonance fills my mind,
Haunts the herald of the night,
Once a man of dreams and virtue,
Now reduced to fear and spite.

Wise words carry solace,
While the words I have not spoken
Seem to torment every nerve,
Every thought, until I've broken.

Now I'm left within a window,
A glass reflection of my tale,
A silent seat begins to fade,
While the harbor sets your boat to sail.
