Wishing Well

by Some Random Human   Dec 16, 2009

How was I to know,
that you were gonna go,
just leave me here this way,
blue skies turned to gray,
it pains me, you don't feel,
the love I thought was real,
and now you are gone,
was I just a pawn,

And I ran out of pennies at the wishing well,
what once was Heaven has turned to Hell,
I'm not so sure about this heart of mine,
I think that soon it will flatline,

I've made a thousand wishes,
spent a hundred dimes,
now I'm all out of change,
and you're all out of time,
I'm not sure what to say,
but I think that now I see,
if I had a million dollars,
you still wouldn't love me,

And I ran out of pennies at the wishing well,
what once was Heaven has turned to Hell,
I'm not so sure about this heart of mine,
I think that soon it will flatline,

I guess my wishes won't come true,
I guess my time was not well spent,
but even now I still love you,
and this pain will not relent,
so this is my final bid,
this is my final plea,
all that I had hid,
is now for you to see,

And I ran out of pennies at the wishing well,
what once was Heaven has turned to Hell,
I'm not so sure about this heart of mine,
I think that soon it will flatline,

And I ran out of pennies at the wishing well,
what once was Heaven has turned to Hell,
I'm not so sure about this heart of mine,
I think that soon it will flatline...
