Under the Scars

Tear off the top layer of skin
And beneath you will find
Another layer of scars
A labyrinth of bars

Again and again
The deeper you go
All you will see
Are layers of scared memories

At the core
Deep down inside
Is the child i was
Cloaked in darkness

Surrounded by pain
Encased in flame
On his knees
Full of shame

His eyes plucked out
No longer able to see
No longer able to be happy
Trapped forever beneath layers of uncertainty
