You Could've Saved Her.

by A Shame In His Eyes   Dec 31, 2009

So how does it feel knowing it's too late?
Do you feel like you've accomplished something?

Did you know she was keeping secrets,
Did you know self harm was her biggest one?

If you would've known,
Would you have tried to help?

Would you have told her everything would be OK,
Or just call her crazy?

Would it have mattered,
Would your words given her a day longer?

Her secrets were hidden under her sleeves,
And you never cared enough to figure it out.

All she needed was a few words,
Maybe something that could've stopped her.

But she wanted to go,
She was too tired to continue on.

She was done pretending to be OK,
Done pretending her life was perfect.

Don't be angry with her,
She really did love you.

She just didn't know how else to let you know,
She was too weak to live.

God had better plans for her,
And now was her time to feel like she was wanted.

She didn't want to hurt you,
She didn't want to see you cry.

She wanted you to be proud of her,
She wanted you to love her, again.

She just wanted her family back,
She wanted to feel like she belonged.

You probably wont even notice that she's gone,
That would just be proving her right.

What did you expect from her,
What was she supposed to do?

She knew trying was useless,
But trying for her just meant another failure.

Was she ever enough,
Or was she just another mistake?

All she ever needed was someone to save her,
But now it's too late.

She's gone,
And she has you to thank for pushing her over the edge.
