Not Enough

by lost4life   Jan 13, 2010

This was an assignment for school. We had to write a poem based on the book "Night" by Elie Wiesel. And I decided to post it up.

To be forcefully evacuated from our own homes
To be critically beaten from head to toe
To be instantly transferred to a place so prison like, so terrifying
But we still have faith in Him

No way to escape from this horrifying nightmare
No high chance of getting out alive
No signs of better days
Yet we still have faith in Him

Only hope keeps us going, only faith can keep us alive
The thought of dying doesn't fall far from our minds
Though our heads are still high in the clouds waiting, hoping, praying
Because we still have faith in Him

Witness the tears in the eyes of the innocent
Hear the cries from the burning hearts of the victims
But even through it all, the unforgettable, the unforgivable moments of many lives
We still have faith in Him

And sometimes...it's not enough.
