Drowning in my fears

by Amberinaa   Jan 16, 2010

A tidal wave of despair crashes wildly
against the walls of hope.
I'm caught somewhere in the middle,
twirled and thrown as water
slips through my hands.
Trying to climb to the surface I
can see my future, the blue puffy clouds
and bright blue skies.
The happiness I've been dreaming to reach,
the water folds rapidly over my grey little eyes,
as my future blurs.
The taste of salt consumes my mouth, as my lungs
begin to burn.
With all my remaining energy, I reach one last time
but I am held back. Pulled deeper by my fears
into a sleep I cannot escape.

    Thank you for your comment

this was some pretty good work you got here. It painted a very dark image in my mind which helped me see where the fear was coming from.

    I was impressed :)
