Sunshine before the rain

by Chelsey   Jan 21, 2010

They say you never know what you have till it's gone
That saying has been in my head for far too long
I've been gone for 2 months and I've realized what I lost
Was my heart, my emotions, my feelings were all crisscrossed

The clouds were so dark, a storm was rolling in
Ready, prepared, I knew depressing emotions would begin
But alas, it stopped; they say the weather always changes patterns
Now my feelings are nervous and my tummy starts to churn

You walked into my life, it was magical I'd say
I felt it that instant, when you looked at me that way
Winking and smiling, it was enough to knock me off my seat
Weak in the knees, I stammered, barely able to stand on my two feet

As if the sky has shown mercy on me, the sun I was looking for
Peeked through the clouds, shined right at my front door
My heart has healed, my emotions finally stable
I want you to give me all of you, if you are capable

I was ready for the rain, for the hard time I was going through
Quickly, it left on the day that I met you
You've kept me smiling this whole time, why would I let that go?
You're everything to me already, I just want you to know

A writer who can relate to their readers are the ones people love most. I definately read your words with a smile as it reminded me so much about a love in my life. Their will always be hard times and stormy days, but they just make you appreciate the happy and sunny ones :) excellent work 5/5
