My Mom (Poem 1)

Theres one person I look up to,
Shes loved me every day
She crazy smart and caring
Funny in her own way

The big things I remember
The little things I forget
The hugs weve shared together
The fights we cant predict

If you asked me what is love
Ill tell you it is her
She fought lifes rough struggles
Even though she knows no cure

Shes raised three crazy children
Shes given all of us a chance to dream
Shes filled our hearts with hope
Given the dark nights a little gleam

She must be tired and weary
She must be sad at times
But she constantly shows compassion
She constantly challenges lifes climb

Whether a broken heart or a skinned up knee
Shes mended them all for them and for me
Shes patched us up and set us free

Shes taught me how to love
Shes taught me how to think
Shes told me what I shouldnt do
And yet is there for me when my judgment sinks

I want my mom to know
So Im making this decree
No matter where I go in life
My heart is where shell be
