Conceptually Negative

by Indian Comma Bean   Jan 29, 2010

Sympathy evaporates under fervent
eyes, yet I familiarize myself
with evanescent ideals,
stray feelings sensing
the threat of an inviolability,
a forced reflection of what
is not; however, spirits walk
about my footsteps, may I be lost
I carry two irises moist
with anticipation for earthen wonder.
Minuscule explosions of night's cruel
brother splash upon focal planes,
arresting my words, my thoughts;
Yet I remain a constant in the absence
of true actuality, forever. Reality
sneers with sulfur smiles and acrid voice
acting as an ashen bridge upon my mind,
Inseparable, entwined like lover's hearts
in moonlight's lambent mirror -
Empathy appears, a herald for perspective
shifting with a monotonic rhythm
piercing morning like dewdrops,
like a fox in daylight's birth ablaze
Seeking refuge in the shallows of
foreign emotions.
