My Paradise

by Logan Rudolph   Feb 1, 2010

Think of something amazing,
the best you can think of.
It still wouldn't be better,
not even heaven above.

It is truly unique,
in that nothing can compare.
Sometimes it almost seems to much,
for just one person to bare.

but share I'd rather not,
because I am greedy.
I want this special paradise,
for my eyes only.

I'm going to take a chance,
and try to explain to you,
but how to describe my paradise?
I guess I'll just have to make-do.

Ever heard of the glorious phoenix?
a mythical creature, that is reborn from fire.
But no one pays attention to the fact that,
its the tears you should admire

The phoenix understands feelings
and it knows when your unwell.
So if ever you should be hurt,
its the phoenix you should hail.

the phoenix comes and feels your hurt,
and its pain for you will be revealed.
Tears of sorrow fall from its golden eyes
and you will become completely healed.

Now ill tell you
why my paradise is so great.
Its because for her,
this power is so innate.

I used to call and cry,
in hopes the phoenix would arise.
But it seemed my dreams of being healed,
shrank right before my eyes.

What i needed was much more,
than what a simple phoenix could give.
The future looked grim,
a life no one would want to live.

But she came along,
and healed my empty soul.
She doesn't even know,
how much she makes me whole.

So the phoenix can keep trying,
but its really not worthwhile.
Because shes already healed me,
with just a simple smile.
