The mirror can only tell the truth

by Shealee   Mar 10, 2010

Here I am, looking into the mirror
And seeing all the imperfections.
The mirror never tells you a lie,
It can’t tell you that you’re beautiful.
It can only tell you what is there,
Reflecting onto its shameful surface.

Here I am, looking into the mirror
Letting the worst get to me.
The way my body reflects itself
Into my eyes, is as if I am in a
Fun house mirror; distorting
My every angle and shape.

Here I am, looking into the mirror
Hoping that every time I will see
Something that is better than it was
Last time. But that will never happen,
Since a mirror only reflects the truth.
And the truth is harsh.
