Future Dreams

by Shinobi   Mar 13, 2010

Clearing aside thoughts in my head of a past long forgotten
Letting hindering of the future float freely above
For not so long ago was I deeply in pain, rotten
Never thought of such words, such strong emotions as love

Voices echo in a deep dark void, of things foretold
Stories of lands far away, where success is all
Listening carefully, nothing ever seemed so bold
Feelings and emotions finally fill the empty hole

Dreams, or hopes, enter my head with each passing day
Wife, kids, and a job will ensure my future happiness
All will listen, consider, and through time obey
No longer shall I be shrouded in such deep darkness

Loving her is all I ever wanted, such warm fantasy
To see her by my side, like a reoccurring dream
Suddenly, my heart is filled with this Ecstasy
Emotions flow with an immense furious stream

Looking at a brand new dawn, smiling to the truth
One day, Such a dream might happen to come true
As long as we keep on our hopes, dreams, and youth
Such future might be close, it's all up to you

This is by far the best poem of yours that I have read. However, it did take me reading it twice before I completely got the point of it. Still, a very good poem written by a very good poet =-]

The reasons people don't comment on poems like this is they need to be read again and again to get their gist. They then need more effort to think it out and arrange it in some type of order before you can get it flow in your head I am not a keen reader of blank nonrhythmic poetry or verse. Yet at the end of reading them though sometimes the outcome is one of marvel I think this is what I have found here. It was worth the effort to read another of your excellent poems. 5/5 Ray S
