Never Good Enough

by ilikepurple222   Mar 22, 2010

Was she right all along-
Telling me that I would never measure up
to greatness?
No one would ever want me,
and so you left to prove her theory correct;
Leaving this gaping whole
where my heart used to be.
It's okay,
I'll be alright.
Maybe one day the pain will become so numb
that its existence will no longer be noticed.

Months of avoiding silence comes to an end.
She throws reminders in my face of your presence.
"I guess I'm not the only one
holding onto someone."

I won't ever let someone tell me
I'm not good enough again.
