Always watching; only watching

by Broken Saint   Mar 25, 2010

I watch you
sitting in the dimly lit corner of the room
your eyes glint of moonlight stricken tears

the Loneliness engulfing you
like shadows fading into the light of night

silently, you cry
silently, i watch you cry

but you're not alone
i want to tell you that
sadly, i cannot

not because i fear hurting you
not because i haven't the heart
not because i can't reassure you

but because i,
in the mirror,
can do nothing
but watch

I like how each line was cut.. it gave me the impression that the speaker was whispering.. as if trying not to give out his presence to the one he's watching.. and my favorite was the ending.. great ending.. i lost my breath when i read the last line.. simply breath taking broken saint
