Knocked Up

by brie kelly wise   Apr 24, 2010

We can check the calendar
Or count the dogs
We can separate when we stir
You make the coffee, I'll take a jog

We both take jobs at the local store
A couple of hours we can fill
To paint the mailbox, the numbers on the door
And in the evenings, we can pay the bills

We are all mad here
Where the truth is
We are all mad here

You'll get partial visitation
On weekends, on holidays
Pulling strings to get to the station
Every early Saturday

In the morning, when you catch me in the raw
You'll see me waiting for you by the coffee pot
Counting seconds for the alarm to ring on your clock
Engine starts in the driveway, the frost waiting there
Another season before tensions thaw

We are all mad here
