Little brother

by CY GINDLE   Apr 24, 2010

Bruises cuts and tears
no tender years here

We cried we bled
most of the time
wished we were dead

In a shell we would hide
we prayed someday somehow
The pain
would someway subside

I don't wanna lie
but I've seen hell
through your eyes

day after day
night after night
we always knew what was in store
this is the life we had to endure

the years have gone by
and we"re damage inside

our ghosts of the past
are moments that last

little brother, even through
you are buried deep in the dirt
I know its wrong to say
but instead of you I wish it was her
our dear mother

Interesting poem well written and very sad, i guess this is how we grow into the strong confident people we become. I do know i dont wish my past on my kids. Well done. Grant
