Illusion of Love

How many times can my heart break?
When I feel betrayed
After what could have been love
Was just confusion
Wrapped in an illusion

Engraved in my head, images like a photograph
Images of your laugh
While holding precious secrets in my mouth
Around you they all spill out

These feelings strongly entrenched in me are all I have
Are they wrong?
I've done this to myself, tore my heart in half
Knowing you are stringing me along

You have someone there to wipe your tears
What about me?
Will she love you through the years?
I would have, but you're too blind to see

Tell me, Is there clarity
In all this insanity?
Now my decision, the time has arrived
To hell with you, I'm moving on with my life

Now, can you tell me?
How many times can my heart break?
All I can say is.........
One time too many

    *gasp* Wishing death on someone? Terrible! Lol no, I love the conviction expressed at the end. It's not a blind, denying conviction, but rather a realization and a well-informed conviction. One of my favorites. =)
