If I Could See His Face Tonight

by Lyssi Lori   May 5, 2010

You're a frog looking for his kiss; I'm a damsel in distress,
We both need someone to get us out of this mess.
I'll change your life if you can save mine,
I'll stay with you forever if you show me the sun shine.
It may not last forever, but at least we can try,
Cause even heroes eventually die.
We'll go down in history, like Romeo and Juliet or Alexander the Great,
Because every moment I have with you feels like it is fate.

You're the rainbow that comes after the storm,
Like a catalyst, you helped me transform.
So let the chemicals react, let the magic take effect,
Baby, give this nightmare a twist no one will detect.
Let tonight be permanently pressed in our minds,
Let's hide in a place that no one can find.
Because tonight it's just you and me,
Tonight I don't want the world to see.
I'll take my chances if you do the same,
Together we can win this game.
The world will fall in place,
Cause all I need is to see your face.

There's no need for misinterpretation so avoid the grape vine,
It's in black and white, so there's no need to read between the lines.
Our happily ever after may not be what you hear in their lullalies,
And maybe someday one of our kisses might mean goodbye.
When you live in a world where hearts and promises are broken,
It's better to have tried than to given in than to leave words unspoken.
Let's cross our fingers, hope for the best and let Fate take control,
Cause the dice won't ever change, but it's our turn to roll.
