Owl City

by Minkus   May 8, 2010

I felt so much like you
without the fame, the looks, the money
without the spark--without the fireworks
just sharing in that single waking dream
that planet Earth turns
slowly
And I'd like to make myself believe
But
my plans for the night fail
as they always do
and I end up listening to you peacefully
letting myself become submerged in
the warm light sound, sweet cascades and bubbles gurgling softly open

Until
suddenly
I
x
the
window
and
remember
the
science
the...
the paper...
so many words, so little meaning
and I wonder where to take my life...
below, your pleasant ocean
above, these cold gleaming platforms
are they
diving boards?
or cages?
I dip my toes in the sea's gentle bath
and grasp the metal edge
hovering between the two...
me
hovering between the two...
