Perfect

Perfect.

Whoever invented the word was one cruel individual.
What did they have in mind?
Surely they knew no good could come of it.
"entirely without any flaws, defects, or shortcomings"
The perfect couple, the perfect body, the perfect life.

None of them exist.

People fighting to stay together while the world works against them. Others looking on who would give anything just to e part of that struggle.
What's so perfect about that?

People manufactured by a society that's too shallow and "goal-oriented" to care about their well-being.
What's so perfect about that?

People in careers they only started to make money, locking themselves into families founded on lies and false hope.
What's so perfect about that?

Perfect.
It seemed great from afar, but now that I've had a closer look, I think I'll stick with good old-fashioned ,flawed, but happy me.
