Dad

by dancing in the dark   May 12, 2010

Your exterior is strong
One composed of strength and self reliance.
Your stance has been through oppressions and sorrows
You're a man who could survive trials of tribulation and
still you would have the mentality to remain sane.

I admire your compassion for those who have died
Coffins covered in red, white, and blue.
Your camouflage uniform has brought you throughout the world,
Mystery locations constructed of millions of faces of those you have never met.

You shelter me from uncertainty while sharing with me the wonders of being an adolescent.
You comfort me when I am feeling distressed
You hold me together, like glue.
You mean more to me then you will ever know.

The more I see you, the more I see my reflection in your eyes
Quiet, timid, and comical.
These three components make up who you are.
All in all
I think some how we are both the same.

I love how ingenious you are
The mornings of spring makes the creativity in your eyes shine,
Shine with images of Tulips and Tomatoes in the garden

These are all the things that make me love you even more
