I Feel Your Pain

by Karin Erlacher   May 17, 2010

This isn't right, this isn't right
This is what keeps me up at night
I feel your pain as it's ripping through
It reaches me, somehow, from you
It's suffering that simply shouldn't be
I know it's wrong and it's consuming me
I want to lay your head on my shoulder
& tell you it'll get better as you get older
But I try not to make promises that aren't true
This pain will take a lifetime from you
To have your heart shattered into pieces
The rage that builds inside, just waiting to release it
The monster inside wanting to come out
The hot blood in your veins, rushing about
In your mind there's no calm, no quiet
It takes too much to continue to hide it
There's an ever growing and passionate need
To break, to find blood, to finally feed
You call it a game, you used to follow rules
Now anyone who does you deem a sorry fool
You've become blood lust & it's a damn shame
I'll be the one shaking my head & whispering your name
I know I'm the one who told you to wait
But I want to jump this wall between us before it's too late
There are so many things I wish I could say
But I'll try to hold my tongue until I run out of days
