Night Starts With A Heart Broken Man

by Su   May 17, 2010

My room filled with nothing but darkness
While the hourglass hits 2:15
I placed my hands on my chest
With our pictures in between

Resting upon my pillow
I carefully closed my eyes
I wish everything rewinds
As soon as morning arrives

It seems harder and harder
For me to sleep nowadays
Even when my eyes are closed
My heart and mind just won't obey

My body turns and twists
Knowing I will not sleep
I am still thinking of you
I wonder if you still think of me

I can hear the silent raindrops
In a rhythm that's so new
Just like the tears on my cheeks
Telling a story in tragic view

I slowly recalled our memories
Wondering what really went wrong
How could we have possibly
Destroyed a love that's so strong

I feel like I have to scream
But too weak to even make a sound
Just like a dog chasing its own tail
Circling round and round

I hear the clock tick and tock
As "hours" passes by
Every moment since day one
You were the one in my eyes

How could you have not realized
My love for you was real
It was from the bottom of my heart
Did I make it sound too ideal?

Questions filled up my head
Slowly to sleep I go
Entering a new world
Where everything simply flows

Waking up to a cloudy morning
The world still feels the same
Not one miss call
Or a text from your name

Something I always wanted
Was a simple good morning and night
Was it too much to ask for?
To make my day a little more bright?

I get up and my day passes by
Routines after routines
School, work, meals,
And hours in front of the computer screens

The sun sets down towards the west
While darkness fills my room once again
Like an ending too sweet
Night starts with a heart broken man
