What Does Your Heart Say?

by Alaska907   May 26, 2010

Listen, let's listen real close.
Do you hear it, can you feel it?
That beat in your chest.
That sound that speaks within you.
It's your heart.

Right where the truth sits.
Just breathe, take a deep breath.
You want the truth, look deep.
Don't think, just feel.
What is your heart telling you?

The truth, it's within yourself.
Without it, you have nothing.
Where do you get it, you earn it.
So listen, listen real close.
What is your heart telling you?

He hurts you. He lies to you.
Told you he was here when he was there.
Called to tell you he would be home later, but never showed.
Yelled at you, hit you when you questioned him.
What is your heart telling you?

You say you love him.
Always want to be with him.
Look, stand in front of the mirror look at the woman you see.
She doesn't look familiar does she?
Swollen jaw, bruised eye.
Do you think he loves you?
What is your heart telling you?

Your heart, does it still exist?
Does it still beat to keep you alive?
You feel dead, lifeless within this life.
Is there any truth left, you're trying to listen.
What is your heart telling you?

"Listen to me, just breathe."
"Your heart still beats, the truth still lives within you."
"He no longer deserves your trust."
"He no longer deserves you."

Listen, listen real close.
Do you hear it, can you feel it?
That beat in your chest.
That sound that speaks within you.
It's your heart.
