Memories

by megan   May 26, 2010

As each day passes the memories diminish and fade
from colorful rapture to bleary, tear filled eyes

Each memory is now obscured by the passing of time
and the once vivid images turn to static of a broken television

Happiness is being forgotten, leaving with the vanishing remembrances
All of which seem so long ago, they could be from a past life

Pulling from memory the ecstasy of before is like putting together a jumbled puzzle in which the pieces do not fit; No matter what, it does not make sense

Although these memories have all but vanished, they still linger, blurred by the past.
Forever an attempt will be made to uncover even one, to remember an aroma, a smile, his laugh...
