Find the light

by megan   Aug 30, 2010

Darkness may fall upon the sunlit beauty of your world
it may consume you, take you in it's bludgeoning grip,
making you hide within the comfort of your suffering

A shadow may cast over the sun, hiding all beauty within it's grasp.
All light may disappear without a trace
and as this begins, hope fades and all fight within is weakened.

The pain within this obscurity need not confiscate your stars, your moon and your sun.
So long as it is prohibited to do so, it shall not conquer.
Rise against the darkness to shine your light again.

Ascend out of the shadows, never holding back.
Do not allow the gloom to devour your spirit.
Fight through the blinding darkness, seeing only with your strength.

The shadows of the darkness shall descend ever so slowly
but loosening it's hold nonetheless;
you will have set yourself free from the pain.

It may linger in the background of your ever strengthening light,
frozen, unable to make it's move
until you give up the fight once again

Focus on the light, not on the darkness
and the light will guide you to happiness,
toward strength and hope
